And then Our Lord told the story of a man who owed something and was forgiven. He then found a friend who owed him a little and he demanded the last penny and had the man thrown in jail.
We need to be reminded that as long as we are on this earth, we are in Gods debt. We are always needing His forgiveness, always needing His understanding, always needing His Mercy and His love. If Christianity means that Christ comes to live in you and me, to share our lives and to give us the secret of radiance, and He gives us His own Love to fashion and form and mold us into children of the Father, not in word and in tongue, but in deed and in very truth … If this is our religion and our faith, then surely must admit how abysmally we’ve failed. We forget Him; we neglect Him; we ignore Him. We are preoccupied with ourselves, our health, our happiness, our well-being, our future, our friends. We forget the Lord. And we fall so much in love with His Gifts that we forget Him, the Giver.
