Thorn In My Flesh

2 Corinthians 12:7

even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.

2 Corinthians 12:7 confused me when I first read this Scripture.

I often wondered, what did it mean, “to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.”

As I look back over the past 10 years, today, as I write this, I understand what this passage means. Often times, when we read Scripture, we take it’s meaning word for word, but in between every word there is a significant meaning, not just what it is that is written. We must always read in between the lines.

Each of us has a thorn in our flesh, something given to us by God. Ask God today, ask Jesus today, why is it that I have this thorn in my flesh and be open to listen to the answer.
